Alaska Botanical Garden

I was fortunate enough to visit this absolutely lovely botanical garden in September and got a tour from the Executive Director, Julianne McGuinness. The simple entry signage has a nice color scheme that stands out from all the greenery.

As they have limited staffing, they have a self-pay kiosk and self-guided tours at the entry.

Even at the end of the season, the herb garden was magical.

I would encourage you, if you're visiting Anchorage, to make a trip to this great garden. They are also expanding their garden shop and have some fun little sculptures from a local artist.

Sunday's Signpost

This is how the staff at a local bookstore solved their queuing problem over the holidays. Perhaps this could be designed into the experience next time?

New year, new president, new posts

Hello blog readers, and happy Inauguration Day to those of you in the States!

I'll be back with regular posts this year after a super-busy fall. Thanks for reading, for your comments, and for your interest in Experienceology.

Feel free to send me ideas for posts you'd like to see, photos you think are blog-worthy (especially for Sunday's Signpost), and people you'd be interested in hearing from on the podcast.

Thanks again!
